Sami + Danny

Like countless pandemic-era weddings, Sami and Danny’s plans had to be changed a number of times before their big day. Originally planned to be a New Year’s Eve party, their wedding moved to a late summer September day in the family backyard. It couldn’t have been more perfect for their love story.

“Go jump in the lake” was a phrase from Danny’s father, and when Danny proposed to Sami he asked if she would “jump in the lake of life” with him. After hearing the stories and the importance of the lake throughout the day, we HAD to put it out there and ask if they wanted to jump in.

I can’t think of a more charismatic and wonderful couple to spend the day with, and like many of those pandemic weddings, the smaller and more intimate group was so special to be a part of for the day. It was truly beautiful to see how the friends and family rallied around the couple to make it the best day ever despite how much the original plans had to change. I guess that’s what it means to jump in the lake of life — some days will be peaceful and serene, others more turbulent, but when you’re willing to help each other stay afloat through it all you can make it through anything.
